Yesterday, while everyone else in San Francisco was at Bay to Breakers, I noticed these two pigeons outside the window of my apartment. They have made a nest in one of the airshaft window-boxes and don’t seem to do much, or even move. They also have an egg, which they seem to ignore all day. Despite the fact that they’re bad parents, I like these ugly little guys. I’ve started photographing them a few times day, just to see what’s up. So begins the Pigeon Chronicles.
In documenting the birds, it’s also come to my attention that there is a lot of really gross stuff in the airshaft alley that I’m pretty sure we’re responsible for. I wouldn’t put it past us my roommates to throw the occasional fedora out the window.
