What I learned in Leadville, Colorado:

First of all, it’s very beautiful, and very, very cold.

The air is much thinner. This means that while you cannot run quickly while in Leadville, you will get drunk easily.

Aspens are the largest organism on earth. And their bark has a fine greenish powder on it that contains natural SPF — which you can rub all over on your face while you’re hiking if you forget your sunscreen.

Even Jeeps can’t handle this town.

But you can always end the night in one Leadville’s fine saloons.
